A mandatory unit to be mounted near the front door of the house; this unit enables the user to perform many critical functions along with being the interface for the electronic lock. This unit is also the place where user puts the WiseAbode installation in secure mode while leaving house and takes back the control after coming back. An intuitive keypad forms the interface for performing the routine actions just like in other WiseAbode systems. The same keypad enables the user to set/reset the secure mode using password known only to "trusted" members of the family. The passwords are stored in the ID unit in encrypted form and cannot be stolen from the system through any mechanism or in any form. The ID unit also forms the base unit for the "keyless" card mechanism and stores the related data. On presenting a valid card by the visitor, the electronic lock is opened to allow the visitor entry, after which a password has be provided to validate the user, within a time of 10sec. This ensures that the system will discriminate between you and somebody else carrying your card. In case of identity theft by someone, the password to de-arm the system would be known only to you, failing to give which, will cause the system to raise critical alarm. Thus efforts have been made to assure the user and allow him to be at peace with the system and thus, himself.
